Gas Leak forces Office Evacuation

Brooke Ramsey - Wednesday, September 18, 2019

A gas leak on 104th street has forced the evacuation and closure of two buildings, including the Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency (HIRTA) central office. Originally, HIRTA staff was told it would be a few minutes before Mid American Energy could shut off the gas line, however several hours later officials have reported the location of the gas leak has not been identified and it may be hours until the buildings are safe to be occupied.

HIRTA thanks the public for their patience during this time.
