Our scheduling software is experiencing a system outage which affects both the ability to schedule new rides and also the existing trips. We have notified our software vendor of the issue and they are working to address it. Please be patient while we with the software vendor to get the system back up and running. HIRTA is pleased to announce our new iRide campaign. Our staff will be out in the community gathering riders stories of why they ride HIRTA and what public transportation means to them. If you’re interested in participating in the iRide campaign, please let our customer service team know.
What is iRide?
- Breaking down barriers and negative stigmas toward public transit and riding the bus is a substantial way to increase awareness and ridership, so it is the main focus of the campaign.
- Who rides the bus and where do they go? We will unmask the diversity among our riders and trip destinations.
The power of personal testimony will propel us forward.

Join us in celebrating National Dump the Pump day on Thursday June 15th. Dump the Pump day encourages people to ride public transportation, instead of driving. APTA reports show a two person household which downsizes to one car can save on average more than $9,700 per year. Public transportation also benefits local economies, every $1 invested in public transportation has a $4 economic return. In honor of Dump the Pump day, HIRTA will be scheduling FREE rides. Ask our staff for more information.
