Fares:
$5.50 one-way. Reduced rate for passengers with fixed incomes/prior approval required
Personal attendants ride for free. Companions ride for the same fare as the passenger.

$35.00 per hour, $45.00 per hour to the Des Moines International Airport
New Ames to Iowa City Service:
Now providing public transit service from Ames to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) in Iowa City.
Every Tuesday and Wednesday a bus will leave the south side of Ames City Hall at 7:30 a.m. and arrive at UIHC at 10:00 a.m. for medical appointments. Medical appointments should be scheduled between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The bus leaves Iowa City at 3:00 p.m. to return to Ames.
Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance.
Fare is $10 per person roundtrip.
This service is open to the public and is wheelchair accessible.

This service is made possible through funding from the Federal Transit Administration, Iowa Department of Transportation, United Way of Story County, Story County Community Foundation, City of Ames, and Story County.
General Information:
Regular rides cannot be scheduled more than two weeks in advance.
Hourly rides should be scheduled at least three weeks in advance.
Ride cancellations should be called in to Heartland at least 30 minutes in advance of the scheduled pickup time.
Standing orders, or regular, recurring trips, require a completed request form. Standing order requests will be processed within one week of their receipt and a dispatcher will contact the rider with the scheduled standing order times.
Dial-A-Ride standing orders will be processed the same day they are received.
